Li Ka Shing invested $60m into Facebook reports Venture Beat and AllThingsD. Not bad! Now Facebook clearly has Asian and China ambitions. It’s too big a market to ignore and Superman (Li Ka Shing) is definitely one of the best strategic partners to have.

I’m in Love… with my Mac
seriously, it’s super good to use. so stable, reliable… ahh, the joys of having a ‘nix core. i’ve been wanting to get on mac for so long but only got to it now after the lifecycle of my previous fujitsu was thoroughly over. I lasted me for a good 5 years but it’s bye bye fujitsu.
my information systems infrastructure is now much more oriented towards ‘nix variants now. i love the idea of being able to play around with various variatiions of nix: mac, ubuntu, gOS, ubuntu server, fedora core…
i’ve never really dived into ‘nix systems until after graduation. somehow there wasn’t a major need to use ‘nix stuff back in school. the curriculum just didnt make it cool to use ‘nix so much. however, in the commericial world, it’s very different. reliability is a requirement and there is a strong business need to use secure, reliable, lightweight systems.
i’ve been putting myself through a rather punishing schedule of theoretical and practical learning about ‘nix systems. i know that it will take me a few years to get to a high level of proficiency, but it is now a personal goal to seriously master this.
initially, it can be tough, but with effort put in on a daily basis to learn it up, it shouldn’t be too difficult. especially now that I have some really good friends who can teach me really well.

It’s Zoukout again this coming weekend. Sounds nice… but I’m not super game to go for it. Tickets are getting more expensive and I listen to Armin Van Buuren play everyday. No kick leh.
